The National Famine Way is a self-guided trail detailing the ill-fated journey of 1,490 famine emigrants who walked from Strokestown Park (home of the National Famine Museum) in Roscommon to ships in Dublin in 1847, at the height of the Irish Famine. Over 30 pairs of bronze shoes are interspersed along the 165km route and each pair of shoes is digitally and physically way-marked.
