Two elements go in. Something new comes out. Drop Earth and Fire together and you get Lava. Put that Lava in water and you get Stone. Keep going and the tree opens out — metal you can forge into blades and machines, a seed you can grow into a forest, and further still to comets, spacecraft and wonders.
