Every year, the EU wastes enormous amounts of edible food: Cyprus leads with 294 kg per person, Portugal with 185 kg, and Malta with an estimated 162 kg per person. Food Connect links people with surplus food to those who need it. Businesses upload extra food, receivers claim it, and everyone helps cut waste. How it works - Donors (restaurants, supermarkets, hotels, bakeries, farms, NGOs) post surplus food with quantity and pickup info. - Receivers (individuals, charities, community groups) browse listings nearby and reserve for pickup.
