Lay out a French formal garden where symmetry is the whole economy. Parterre is an idle-merge garden built on one rule: every bed has a twin straight across the central gravel axis, and a plant only BLOOMS while its twin holds a plant of the very same kind. Break the symmetry and the lonely plant sulks grey, paying a mere trickle. Keep it, and both halves earn in full. Tap a bed to plant a seedling, then drag matching plants together to merge them one tier up — ten tiers, seedling to Grand Topiary.
