Every other untangle game lets the lines slide through each other. This one doesn't. In Untangle: Night Sky the ropes are physical. They are solid to the touch, they have real slack, and pulling one star drags its neighbours along like a knotted necklace. You cannot shove a star through a rope — you have to work the knot loose the way you would in your hands: find the gap, go around it, or slip underneath. Drag the stars until no two ropes cross.
