NEWS2 Calculator is designed to make it easier for healthcare professionals to calculate NEWS or NEWS2 scores during the assessment of acute illnesses in patients. The NEWS and NEWS2 are scoring systems which use six physiological parameters, which are recorded in routine practice, to give an aggregate score which can be used to determine the best response for acutely ill patients. The six parameters are: - Respiratory rate - Oxygen saturation - Systolic blood pressure - Pulse rate - Level of consciousness - Temperature A score is allocated to each parameter during measurement.
