The ROX index combines respiratory rate and oxygenation to help predict outcomes of Nasal High Flow Therapy together with normal clinical judgement. F&P ROX Calculator is a simple tool that allows you to calculate a patient's ROX index. The ROX index for a patient is calculated by dividing the SpO2 / FiO2 ration by respiratory rate, thus is easily measured and repeated at the bedside. The index can be used together with clinical judgement to assess whether mechanical ventilation may or may not be a required after initiation of NHF therapy.
