Put the phone down between you and the other person — and talk. The screen splits into two halves, each turned towards its own person. You press your button and speak — they read the translation on their side straight away. They press theirs and answer — you read it on yours. Nobody flips the phone or passes it back and forth, and the conversation doesn't fall apart into pauses. The main thing: the other person doesn't need anything explained.
