You finish a book, you have something to say about it, and a week later it is gone. Marginal is where it goes instead. Keep a shelf of what you are reading, have read, or mean to read. Write in the margins of the book in front of you, in five kinds of margin, each with a word limit, because margin space was always finite and every word had to earn its place.
