FiloBatik is an educational research tool for exploring Indonesian batik. Photograph a cloth — or pick one from your gallery — and FiloBatik gives you an estimated motif name, its character, and its likely region of origin, then places it on the "batik phylomemetic tree": a reconstructed map of kinship between archipelago batik motifs, based on Situngkir (2009), "The Phylomemetics of Batik" (Bandung Fe Institute).
