You choose how far to push, what to take, and when to leave. If you fail, you lose what you carried. Combat rewards patience and positioning. Cover matters. Movement matters. Rushing usually gets you killed. The difficulty is intentional and part of the design. Progress comes from learning how the systems interact, not from grinding or overpowering enemies.
