You are eighteen. You have two hundred dollars, no degree, and rent is due in thirty days. Or you have a trust fund, $800 a month for life, and a family that burns its people out by forty. You didn't pick. Nobody picks. That's where The Provider begins. From here you get one month at a time, about six hundred of them. Take the shift or take the class. Rent or buy. Pay down the card or put it in the index fund. Then you press End Month — the paycheck lands, the bills come out, and the receipt tells you exactly what your choices were worth.
