CardVault will not tell you your photographs are safe until every transferred file has been verified. It copies photographs and video from a camera card to your Mac or a directly attached drive, then proves the copy is correct by reading it back off the disk — not by trusting that the write succeeded. VERIFICATION THAT READS BACK CardVault records the SHA-256 of every source file as it copies. Then it closes the copy, flushes it, checks its size, reopens it, and recomputes the digest from the bytes actually on the destination disk.
