Most speed reading apps show you a bigger number every week. Readglide shows you one number, and it only goes up when you actually understood what you read. That number is your effective reading rate: words per minute multiplied by your comprehension score. Raw speed is never shown on its own, anywhere in the app. Reading twice as fast while understanding half as much is not progress, and the app refuses to call it progress.
