Red Wedge Timer

A timer a child can read before they can read a clock. Turn the dial to however long they have. A red disk fills that much of the hour, and shrinks as the time runs out — so "ten more minutes" stops being an abstract promise and becomes something visible, shrinking, on the table. When the disk is gone, the timer sounds.
