The anatomy of the wrist is complex and in the past CT evaluation of the wrist was often limited to axial slices and simple multiplanar reconstructions. However improvements in CT scanning technology now allow true volume acquisition with isotropic datasets. These advances along with easy to use 3D software have improved our ability to image the wrist with volume display.
