To use the application, the user must have a Medtronic patient connector. Additionally, the functionality of the application (interrogating, programming, viewing reports and ECG) cannot be accessed without a prescribed medical device (Reveal LINQ and LINQ II). During both the insertion and follow-up, the Medtronic patient connector communicates with the implantable device.
